What is the difference between CD-R and CD-ROM?
A CD-R is recorded one disc at a time and suits short runs. A CD-ROM is injection-molded from a stamper for volume replication with identical content on every disc.
Why may full-color disc printing need a white flood coat?
A disc surface is silver rather than white paper. A white base reduces substrate reflection and color shift so CMYK artwork reproduces more predictably.
What is a glass master?
Digital content is encoded as microscopic structures on a glass master, which is then used to create the metal stamper required for injection molding.
How do DVD-5 and DVD-9 differ?
DVD-5 is single-sided and single-layer with a nominal 4.7 GB capacity. DVD-9 is single-sided and dual-layer with a nominal 8.5 GB capacity. Content format and player compatibility still need review.
